The curent Orchard Rise Studio builds on the heritage of our first studio near Portland, founded almost 20 years ago. Over the years we’ve loved recording all sorts of people and projects. From mastering feature length film audio to capturing live events in all sorts of venues large and small, from artists known nationally to those you’ll never hear of, and from the studio to TV, stage and open mics nights. This region sure has a creative flair and we’re proud to be part of it.

At Orchard Rise Studio we strongly believe that the music making process, either in the studio or live, is about people. Sure there’s a bunch of technology and specialist expertise involved, but that is only there to support people, the creative process and the engagement between artists and the listenting audience.
We take this approach seriously, and put our time into working with you to understand what you need and expect. Whether we’re working with you in the studio, or running the PA for your live performance, our priority is on ensuring everyone involved enjoys the process and is able to be their creative best.

What if I’ve never been in a studio before ?
Then why not start with us ? We love to support musicians grow in their capability, and are happy to spend time with you so you can experience what the studio offers in terms of creativity and skills development. You’re neve too young or too old to try recording in a studio environment. It’s great fun!
where is your studio located ?
Orchard Rise Studio is located in Warrnambool in magnificent south-west Victoria. We love the creative vibe of being regional, and have collaborated with studios across the country. In a digital world it’s easy to complete your project across multiple sites, and we’re happy to work with you to understand whether you want to work wholly or partly with us. We can even help with tips to set up your bedroom better if that’s your recording space !
how much do you charge ?
Orchard Rise Studio supports folks with all sorts of budgets, including some initial free sessions for those just starting out. We’re very happy to put together a quote once we’ve had a chat to make sure we understand your expectations and constraints. Bottom line – we don’t want the cost to deter you from being creative and reaching your audience, and we expect that you will walk away feeling like you got great value from your time with us.
can you provide a PA for our live event ?
We have in-house gear that can support most small-mid size events you’d expect in a regional town, and have access to collaborators locally who can help us gear up for significantly larger events as required. We’ve worked extensively supporting touring artists across Australia and have real-world knowledge and experience of what it takes to connect you to your audience without under or over-doing it.
